GLOW JAR

This is by far the easiest little activity you will ever do in your life. Mya loves a good glow stick dance party, so we added a few more ingredients to make a glow jar.

WHAT YOU NEED

glow sticks

rubber gloves
plastic bag
glitter (optional)

WHAT TO DO

1. Activate the glow sticks just as you normally would. Cut each glow stick at the end and discard the small piece. Be careful not to let the liquid pour out of the stick until over the jar. We quickly added a plastic bag to our supply list for easy cleanup. Pour as much as you can of each glow stick into the jar.

2. Add glitter or whatever else that you won’t mind eventually throwing away. We used blue star confetti.

3. Secure the lid tightly on the jar. Shake well.

WhatToDo-psI thought the star confetti would have more of an impact to the end result, but it didn’t add too much of a “wow” factor. Since every project is based on the level of excitement Mya exudes, I’d rank this a 3 outa 10. (10 being Derek chasing her down the hall and 1 being time to take a potty break.) She basically gave the jar a once-over as it glowed in the bathroom, shrugged her shoulders and walked off.

Maybe when she loses her first tooth, I’ll make up some story of how we have to make a fairy glow jar so the toothfairy can find her way to her room. And then she’ll roll her eyes. But I’ll do it anyway. And then we’ll take some pictures because it looks cool.
