In the spirit of St. Patty’s Day in a few weeks, we had a green-colored snack today. Believe me, I wish it would’ve just been broccoli, but we’re dealing with a picky eater this week. And green cheerios look totally gourmet when you put them against a gold table runner, right? Errrr…. ok, maybe not.
We picked up a little can of Color Mist at the craft store and spray-painted our cheerios. I usually don’t like unnecessary additives in food, but it’s tasteless and I figure we’ll do this on very rare occasions.
As an adult, these don’t look super delicious, but it made one little girl pretty excited. The only way I could’ve upped the cool factor (according to Mya) is if they were “bluuuuuue” instead of green. But judging by her bite intake, she approved the color choice.
Do I have something on my face?
Nah. You’re good.
Apparently green cheerios are more appetizing to a toddler than any green vegetable. Go figure. But don’t be discouraged, people. I was able to sneak in a few healthier meals this past week. And we’ll share one of them on this week’s Foodie Friday!
