It finally hit me at the grocery store that we’re having a baby… like soon! All of the milk expirations dates are past when baby is due, which totally freaked me out. So then I ventured on over to the next aisle and threw a bag of powdered sugared donuts in the cart. Because that solves anxiety, right? These pictures are from last week. We didn’t have swiss chard, so red leafy lettuce had to do. And I’m not wearing a santa hat. That’s our tree topper.
37 WEEKS | SWISS CHARD
Food cravings: Not swiss chard.
Symptoms: I have a horrible memory, but I do NOT remember such sharp braxton hicks with Mya!
Milestones: Mya is super excited for baby sister to arrive and loves “practicing.” She says how much she loves her baby and how she can’t wait for her to be here. Derek and I are hoping she rides this train for at least the next 18 years.
Photo shoot fun: As much as it has been joyful to look back on these pictures of the baby bump, I will not miss wrangling Mya to be still for five seconds while we capture the moment. She has been a serious fireball lately, waking up at 5:45 and declaring her independence throughout the day. I think she’s just conditioning us for
little no sleep with baby!
If we make it to 40 weeks, I will try to post a pic of my
discomfort progress. But for now, we’re soaking up the time we have with our first baby girl. It’s so surreal to me to imagine having another little human in our family, but I know life is only going to get sweeter. And Daddy’s only going to get more spoiled with another little girl. Excuse me while I go cry some grateful, happy tears– freaking hormones!
