Yup– still pregnant. Two more days until Christmas Eve. Two more days until due date. So we’ll see what happens, but it seems like she’s pretty comfy staying right where she is. Must be all the dark chocolate and homemade holiday treats from neighbors.
Mya delivered the candy gift pots that we made to all the neighbors. She is fully embracing the giving spirit this year which makes me one happy Mama. She also got a little overzealous and ran most of the route; and Derek pulled the weight in the end.
Ella the Elf
We came across the “kindness elf” idea and jumped on the elf bandwagon for the first time this year. Her name is Ella and she likes to climb Christmas trees, do yoga, and eat too many peppermints. But what we’re really hoping that Mya has been getting from Ella’s antics, is the idea of spreading kindness and learning how to share. Each day,
Derek Ella leaves a note with a new deed (filling up the bird feeder, helping me wrap gifts for others, picking out toys to donate…) and every day Mya has been all over it. I’m thinking Ella might just need to hang around for a few more months.
If you are a parent… buy this!
We haven’t needed to purchase much for the second kiddo, which has been great. But one of the things that I found– and loooove!– is this Pikibu rearview mirror with widened view. I wanted something where we could more easily see the backseat happenings with two kids and this had great reviews. I wish we would’ve had it the past three years with Mya, but grateful for it now! Totally worth the $25.
We stuck with one of our Christmas traditions and decorated a gingerbread house last night. Fingers got sticky and we somehow ran out of fruit snacks pretty quickly.
Hoping everyone is winding down for a relaxing holiday with loved ones… and that you are done running errands for the week. Because if we don’t already have it in our house, we’re not going out to get it before Christmas. And if we’re not eating hospital food on Christmas Eve or Christmas, the Chinese take-out menu will definitely be utilized.
