We have some major catching up to do, so we’re just going to dive right in… I’m currently…

All emotional about Leah’s Baptism. There are so many moments throughout my day where I just stare at both girls in awe of their inner and outer beauty. Then Mya catches me in the act and says, “Why are you making that face at me?” … I don’t know what she’s talking about… 😉 Regardless, I think the question should be, “How is Derek the only normal one in our family?”

Stuck on the tradition of visiting Kiewit’s flag installation on Memorial Day. This was the first year that we were able to explain the meaning of the day to Mya and she seemed to begin to understand. We are able to live such a beautiful life because of so many that have served and are serving our country. And we are forever grateful.

Sweating at butterfly and ladybug nature camp. Mya was sweating in the heat and I was sweating the first day I dropped her off because it was a new thing. After each three hour day, she said “Nature camp really wears me out. I’m too tired to help make dinner.” And on the last day, she fell asleep on the car ride there, so we played hooky.

Munching on these energy bites. Too bad mine never stick together completely and form into balls, but they are seriously so tasty. And not too sweet!

Toning it up with Katrina and Karena– the Tone It Up workout/ nutrition gurus. I started following them on instagram, then tapped into their free youtube workouts. I’m hooked. The online workouts are short– 8 to 20 minutes– so it makes it way more feasible to do a couple throughout the day with the girls. You might have seen this video on instagram– Mya’s been joining in, which has been the best part.

Finger painting. I finally made time to paint again and it feels so good. I tried something new– finger painting with no use of a brush or pallet knife. It’s not my favorite piece, but I enjoyed the process. And it’s reminded me how much I love to paint.

Admiring our window planter boxes that my Grandpa made for us last year. Derek hung them last fall and we finally added flowers to them on Mothers’ Day. They make me smile every day. I love them so much.

Rocking out. Our yard has definitely been a labor of love on behalf of Derek. (I’m not much help when it comes to this department!) It’s so rewarding to look back to pics years ago and see how he’s transformed all areas… at hardly any cost– just a lot of hard work! Most recently, Derek’s brother had a surplus of rock from one of his own yard projects, so we lucked out and got the excess. It sat in our driveway for a good month, but once Derek had the chance to sweat outside for a full day, he added it into the landscaping and the east slope of the retaining wall is complete!

Radiating with this Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Masque. Derek brought it home for me after a work trip and I seriously cannot thank him enough. It is exactly what I need after a long day. I use it twice a week and my skin feels so much softer. No one’s stopping me on the street telling me that I’m glowing, but it seriously feels so amazing.

Have a great week, friends! Stay tuned for a fun bead project on Wednesday!
