SUMMER BUCKET LIST for KIDS

Mya’s final day of 3’s Preschool was last week and we’re officially having those summer vibes. After our vacation to Estes and the girls’ and my trip up to Omaha, it’s been kind of a struggle to get back in the swing of things at home. I think Mya is expecting a road trip every week, which is definitely not the case. So in an effort not to bore her out of her mind and always strive to be more fun-loving parents, we came up with a list of things we want to do with the girls this summer. Hoping that you guys send us some of your summer plans too, so we can add them to our list!

  • have a LEMONADE STAND

  • go to the FARMSTEAD

  • GEOCACHING

  • go to a BASEBALL GAME

  • watch FIREWORKS

  • make POPSICLES

  • MINIGOLF

  • TIE-DYE t-shirts

  • WATER BALOON FIGHT

  • SLIP-and-SLIDE

  • OMAHA ZOO

  • fly a KITE

  • roast S’MORES

  • go to a WATER PARK

  • driveway CAR WASH

  • outdoor CONCERT

  • plant FLOWERS

  • catch FIREFLIES

  • Sunday RUN DAYS

  • do NOT get sunburned

Today, we checked “water balloon fight” off the list, but I’m sure there will be many more wet and wild days to come. These self-sealing water balloons blew my mind and are so worth avoiding the constant struggle of filling them individually. (Check out our instagram stories for the video demo… and also Mya spraying Leah in the face.)

Derek and I also have a list of things we’d like to accomplish without kids (ie build a back deck, finish the basement, plant some trees…) But for some reason, it’s a lot easier to work “flying a kite” with the whole family into the weekends, than it is “building a deck.” And I’ll take roasting s’mores over drywalling any day.

Wishing everyone a Memorial Day filled with only happy memories and respect for all that have served our country.
